Over the next few months we will be using this section to feature some of our unique products and why they are important to our product range.

Spotlight On - The SL-X™ Lateral Clamp
Back in 2007 we revolutionised the Water Fed Pole market when we released the SL-X™ full carbon pole. No other pole was as compact when closed or as rigid in use. This was due to two key features:

1. Smaller tolerances between section sizes giving improved rigidty

2. The use of a Lateral Clamp system

Gardiner's Design Protected Lateral Clamp System
Due to the success of the SL-X™ pole we decided in 2008 that we needed to come up with a unique Lateral Clamp design. In March 2009 we were the first in the world to release this new design and with it an eight pole line up. In April 2009 this unique design was granted Registered Design Protection by the 'European Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market - Trade Marks & Designs'. A Design Patent is also currently pending for this design with the US Patent Office.

Why Superior?
Up until the release of the original SL-X™ most telescopic poles used a 'longtitudinal clamp lever design'. Whilst these work very well, the 'Lateral Clamp design' has two advantages:

1. Greater clamping strength due to the direct action of the lever cam

2. More compact clamp length (up to 60% less) allowing for more efficient pole sizes

The Lateral Clamp now features on our three pole ranges - CL-X, SL-X & Super-Max.
